Students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana, outshined in BBA II semester PU Exams. Sapna Kumari with 81 per cent marks stood I in college and got II position in Ludhiana and V position in Panjab University. Nanki stood II in college with 75 per cent marks and Manpreet Kaur  secured III position in college with 72.36 per cent marks.

‘Swachhta’ campaign at girls college

A special ‘Swachhata’ campaign was organised by the NSS volunteers of Guru Nanak Girls College on Friday. Principal Dr Charanjit Mahal motivated the NSS volunteers and apprised them regarding the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surrounding areas to make India clean and green. The NSS volunteers took pledge for making efforts to make the college campus neat and clean and sensitise their peer groups to assume collective responsibility for nation’s cleanliness.

Freshers’ party at KCW

Khalsa College for Women organised a magnificent freshers’ welcome party, “Panache 2017” for the I year students on the college campus. The contest included several rounds including ramp walk and question answer round which wave magic of fun & joy into the event. Vanshika Pasriche won ‘Miss Freshers’’ title.  Besides, there were six other titles accorded to the students. Mahima won the 1st ‘Runner up’ and the II ‘Runner up’ title went to Yeshima Vij. The title of ‘Miss beautiful smile’ was given to Harmeet Kaur. Harshita was crowned ‘Miss Charming’.  Kriti Jain won the title for ‘Best attire’ and Priyanka won the award for ‘best walk’. In the master’s category Simran Brar was crowned ‘Miss Freshers’’ with Kritika and Shivani I and II runner up respectively.

Entrepreneurship awareness programme 

A two-day ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Program’ in association with Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Chandigarh and Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt of India began at Gujranwala Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, on Friday.

Prof Parvinder Singh, Head, Business Management Department, GGNIMT, shared the rationale of the program. Highlighting the grim scenario of employability in India, he said more than 1.2 crore young people join the work force every year, while the jobs created are only a fraction of it. He also highlighted that the programme intended to apprise the students with different government schemes and facilities being offered by the Central and State government.

Inaugural ceremony 

Government College for Girls celebrated inaugural and installation ceremony of Students Counseling Centre. This society will function with the help of professional organisation named Refocus. The college students presented a cultural programme. Dr Sukhwinder Kaur, from the commerce department proposed a vote of thanks to all the guests.— TNS
