A campaign to save the environment, initiated by the Income Tax Department has started bearing fruits. This time, Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib has taken an initiative in association with the Income Tax Department and has come up with 5,000 such plants on the walls of the gurdwara.

The management wants to make the premises green with such vertical gardens on walls. The campaign has been initiated by the Chief Commissioner Income Tax, BK Jha, and is being taken care of by the Additional Commissioner, Rohit Mehra.

The Director General Income Tax, Madhu Mahajan, had visited the gurdwara premises recently and had appreciated the flowers sown in the plastic bottles. The gurdwara management will come up with more vertical plants and flowers on most of the walls.

The income tax officials are also holding meetings with the corporate sector to come up with such vertical gardens in the city so that pollution level can be curbed. The officials say they are committed to make city clean than before so that residents get healthy atmosphere to live in.
