Councillors share issues at zonal meeting

Ludhiana, February 18

To the discuss the problems being faced by people in various wards under Zone A, a meeting between the Senior Deputy Mayor, councillors and officials was held at the MC headquarters here on Monday.

Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra and Zonal Commissioner Kulpreet Singh assured the councilors that their grievances will be taken care of.

Malhotra said the councillors from Zone A wards complained about overflowing sewers, contaminated water supply and other problems. They also complained about broken roads. A large number of complaints related to the Tehbazari branch were received, he said.

Malhotra said such zone-level meetings would be beneficial to ensure solution for problems in different wards. “I have directed the staff concerned to ensure action on complaints. We will call a meeting in a month. Complaints of councilors would also be reviewed in the next meeting. The officials would have to give explanation, if complaints are not resolved,” he said. — TNS
