LUDHIANA: MGM Public School held its investiture. Kiran of Class XI, science stream, was elected as head girl, and Puneet Singh of Class XI science stream was elected as the head boy of the school.

LUDHIANA: MGM Public School held its investiture. Kiran of Class XI, science stream, was elected as head girl, and Puneet Singh of Class XI science stream was elected as the head boy of the school. Bavleen Kaur, Tashneet Kaur, Lovisha and Sanjana were elected as captains. Samay Ralli, Abhishek, Dhraand Sushant were elected as vice-captains.

Asthma awareness camp

Academy of Paediatrics Punjab State Branch organised asthma awareness camp at BCM School, Basant Avenue, to make students aware of the disease. Dr Ashish Wadhwa and Dr Vineet Arora threw light on various factors causing asthma and also gave students first aid tips in case of an asthma attack. Students of classes XI and XII also participated in the poster-making competition.

Inter-house athletics contest

Bal Bharti Public School conducted an inter-house athletics competition. As many as 80 students from four houses qualified for the final round wherein these players gave one another a tough fight in finals.

Labour Day celebrated

Labour Day was celebrated at Shri Harkrishan Sahib Public School with fervour. The function started with a welcome speech for the workers acknowledging their hard work. Games such as musical chairs, bell the cat, balloon dance were organised for the workers. The students presented a skit to commemorate the day. A lunch was also arranged for the working staff. Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavour. School principal Paras Mani congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services.

Press Freedom Day celebrated

Manav Rachna International School celebrated 'World Press Freedom Day' on the school premises. The theme was to enlighten all with the fundamental principles of press freedom. Prabhdeep Singh, DPRO, Dept of Information & Public Relations was the chief guest. The students delivered a speech highlighting various aspects of media and also enlightened everyone with what must be done to bring media and information into the education system at the school level.

Shabad Kirtan organised

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, reverberated with shabad kirtan to commemorate the commencement of the new session. Chairman-cum-school director Rajesh Rudhra and president Shabad Rudhra were present on the occasion. The students and teachers recited melodious shabads thus taking every one into the world of devotion and spirituality. Principal Jyoti Pujara showered her blessings and urged the students to work with devotion and dedication. — TNS
