Khalsa Warriors win kabaddi cup in cliffhanger

KHANNA: The Khalsa Warriors Kabaddi Club Khatra clinched the 8th edition of Baldev Singh Memorial Kabaddi Cup Khatra by defeating Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Kabaddi Academy 24-22.

The Khalsa Warriors Kabaddi Club Khatra clinched the 8th edition of Baldev Singh Memorial Kabaddi Cup Khatra by defeating Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Kabaddi Academy 24-22.

The winners won a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runner-up got a cash prize of Rs 75,000. The tournament was organised by the Harman Khatra Sports and Welfare Club and inagurated by Ludhiana Range DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra and Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya.

Awards were distributed by former secretary of SGPC Dalmegh Singh Khatra. 

Ruppinder Singh Pndi Dataal got the best raider award, while the best stopper prize was given to Sukhraj Singh Sodhi Ratangarhia. The duo won a cash award of Rs 25,000 each. 

In the first semi-final match, Khalsa Warriors Khatra defeated Azad Kabaddi Club Haryana 36-23 and in the second semi-final, Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Kabaddi Academy defeated Miri Piri Shehanshah Sports Academy UK Bathinda 32-31.
