Ludhiana: The STF wing of Ludhiana nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 200-gram heroin from his possession. The accused has been identified as Pardeep Singh, alias, Deep (32), a resident of Madpur, Samrala. The police said they laid a naka at Tajpur Chowk, following a tip-off. Pardeep was intercepted at the spot and drugs were recovered. Assistant Sub-Inspector Gurcharan Singh said the accused was also facing a cheating case registered against him in Samrala.
Peddler held with 7-kg poppy
The Divison No. 3 police nabbed a drug peddler and recovered seven-kg poppy husk from his possession. The accused has been identified as Gurdeep Singh of Master Colony. SHO Kamaldeep Singh said the accused was carrying drug in his truck which was parked in Kirpal Nagar. The police raided the spot and nabbed Gurdeep with drugs.
3 nabbed with 120-gm heroin
The Division No. 5 police nabbed three drug peddlers and recovered 120 gram heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified as Gagandeep Singh, Arvinder Singh, residents of Shimlapuri and Ravi Kumar of Preet Nagar. ASI Davinder Singh said, “Gagandeep is lodged in a jail and is running a drug racket from behind the bars with the help of his aides Arvinder and Ravi.” The duo were roaming near the bus stand to deliver the consignment of drugs. A trap was laid and both were arrested . The police said Gagandeep would be brought on production warrant. — TNS
