Four members of thieves’ gang held

KHANNA: The Khanna police claimed to have arrested four members of a gang of thieves and recovered some stolen items from their possession.

The Khanna police claimed to have arrested four members of a gang of thieves and recovered some stolen items from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Lal Babu, Vikas Majla, Sahil and Parminder Singh, all residents of Khanna. Khanna SP Jagwinder Singh said a special investigating team (SIT) comprising DSP Tarlochan Singh, DSP City Rajan Parminder Singh and CIA in charge Gurmel Singh were investigating a theft case on November 7 and came to know about the accused persons.

The police team of the CIA arrested the accused on Amloh Road, near Military Ground, Khanna. Three mobile phones, one LCD, one induction stove and a number of taps were recovered from their possession. The SP said the arrested persons confessed to have committed thefts at few shops on Railway Road and 11 houses in and around Khanna. The arrested will be presented in a court for further legal action, the SP said.
