Ludhiana: The city police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 250 gram opium from his possession.



Ludhiana: The city police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 250 gram opium from his possession. The accused has been identified as Harpreet Singh, a resident of Sector 32 A, Chandigarh Road. Investigating officer, Sub-Inspector Mohan Lal, from the Anti-Narcotic Cell, said a routine naka was laid near the Civil Hospital where the accused, who was on foot, stopped for checking. During search of his belongings narcotics were recovered, he added. TNS

Woman smuggler held with heroin

Ludhiana: The Anti-Narcotics Cell have nabbed a woman smuggler and recovered 5gm of heroin from her possession. The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Kaur, a resident of the Model Town. The police said during a routine naka at Bhai Wala Chowk, a woman pedestrian was stopped for checking. During search of her belongings, narcotic was recovered, added officials. “A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused,” the police said. TNS
