NEW DELHI:With the Centre giving its nod to the proposed changes in the anti-graft law, the Central Government employees will be protected from “direct exposure” as all prosecuting agencies, particularly the CBI, would “mandatorily” require to get “prior permission” from the designated authorities before they initiate any inquiry against them.

With the Centre giving its nod to the proposed changes in the anti-graft law, the Central Government employees will be protected from “direct exposure” as all prosecuting agencies, particularly the CBI, would “mandatorily” require to get “prior permission” from the designated authorities before they initiate any inquiry against them.

Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh, who looks into the matters relating to Department of Personnel & Training, said: “To protect well-meaning honest officers from unnecessary harassment, the government has readied an amendment Bill to bring about required changes in the anti-graft law.”

It was necessary to ensure the bureaucracy continued to work without any fear or favour, he said.
