Pak visas for Hindu pilgrims

NEW DELHI:Despite a freeze on official bilateral talks, pilgrimage continues between India and Pakistan.

New Delhi, December 5

Despite a freeze on official bilateral talks, pilgrimage continues between India and Pakistan. Days after the ground-breaking ceremony at Kartarpur, the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi has issued visas to 220 Hindu pilgrims from India. The Indian pilgrims will participate in 310th birthday celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib at Sukkur from December 5-16.

Shadani Darbar Tirth is included under the India-Pakistan Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. “The issuance of visas is in line with Pakistan’s efforts for promoting visits to shrines and public exchanges,” said a release by the Pakistan mission. — TNS
