Union Cabinet approves revision of salaries of SC, High Court judges

NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet approved the revision of salaries of Supreme Court and high court judges. The benefit will be given from January 2016.

With this step, 31 Supreme Court judges, 1,079 high court judges and over 2,000 retired judges will benefit.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the revision of salaries of Supreme Court and high court judges. The benefit will be given from January 2016.

With this step, 31 Supreme Court judges, 1,079 high court judges and over 2,000 retired judges will benefit.

The Cabinet also cleared the way for negotiations for wage revision in the central PSEs.

The cabinet approved setting up of 15th finance commission and its terms and references.

It also approved the India-Russia agreement on cooperation for combating terror and organised crime.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also clarified on Parliament’s winter session, saying it would be a regular session but the elections and the session would not overlap, which had been a norm in the past.
