CHANDIGARH: Congress Hindu and Backward Class leaders are camping in Delhi, seeking a fair representation to their communities in the allocation of ticket.

Congress Hindu and Backward Class leaders are camping in Delhi, seeking a fair representation to their communities in the allocation of ticket.

Giving representation to senior party leaders, including All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal, AICC secretary incharge Asha Kumari and PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar, they lamented that Jats were commanding important positions in the party, be it MLAs or district presidents.

For the Bathinda seat, where Manpreet Badal is in the race, Cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra, a prominent Hindu leader, is seeking ticket for his son Mohit Mohindra. The latter had applied under the youth quota for Bathinda.

A similar situation has emerged in Ferozepur where Dr Mohindra Rindwa, Hans Raj Joshan and Anish Sidana are seeking the ticket for either a local Backward Class leader or a Hindu face.

For Anandpur Sahib, leaders representing the Ramgarhia, Gujjar and Saini communities have joined hands, seeking candidate from among the communities. Satbir Singh Pallichikki, Rajpal Singh and RP Singh are meeting leaders in Delhi to put across their point. Anoop Soni, son of Rajya Sabha MP Ambika Soni is also in the race.
