Amritsar, March 22

The BSF personnel have nabbed a Pakistani national and handed him over to the police.

The accused has been identified as 20-year-old Mohammad Ramzan, son of Ghulam Kasim, of Gazikhan, Pakistan.

Raghuvir Singh, BSF’s officiating company commander (88 Battalion), said Ramzan had crossed the border on March 19 around 8 pm. The BSF team arrested him from Kahngarh Border Outpost in the Gharinda area. He didn’t possess a valid visa and was loitering in the Indian territory. A case has been registered against him.

Investigating Officer SI Baljinder Singh said three-day remand had been procured and he was being interrogated. “After medical examination, he was found to be in sound state of mind. Though no forbidden material was recovered from his possession, his motive of crossing over the border is not yet clear,” he added.
