Minor strangled, honour killing suspected

SANGRUR: In a suspected case of honour killing, family members of a 17-year-old girl of Namol village have allegedly strangled her to death, suspecting that she had an affair with a youth of Alisher village.

In a suspected case of honour killing, family members of a 17-year-old girl of Namol village have allegedly strangled her to death, suspecting that she had an affair with a youth of Alisher village.

The police have arrested 10 persons and all arrested are relatives of the minor girl. Cheema SHO Karnail Singh said on the night of May 22, around 12 persons strangled the girl to death at her house. After committing the crime, the accused cremated her body during the night in the village cremation ground. The accused include girl’s father, mother and other relatives.
