Two hurt in clash outside gurdwara

Ludhiana, December 12

Former president of Dugri Gurdwara Management Committee Jagdev Singh was attacked by some armed persons outside the gurdwaras premises this evening. He sustained serious head injuries. He was rushed to the civil hospital from where he was referred to CMC Hospital.

One of his friends was also injured. The police were yet to register a case.

ADCP Surendra Lamba said initial reports suggested that two groups each led by incumbent and former presidents of the committee were involved in the clash. “The matter is being probed. We will take action after recording statements of both parties,” he said. — TNS
