Friendly Talks With Afghan King



KABUL, July 18 (UNI)-President Zakir Husain and King Zahir Shah of Afghanistan today exchanged views on international issues and bilateral relations, including extension of economic cooperation. The talks were held at the King's palace during Dr. Husain's three-hour stopover on his way home from the Soviet Union. A joint communique issued after the talks said the discussions were frank and friendly and in keeping with the traditional friendly relation between the two countries. The King was assisted by Prime Minister Noor Ahmed Etemadi and his Cabinet colleagues. After the talks King Zakir Shah entertained Dr. Zakir Husain at a luncheon. Dr. Husain was received at the airport by the King and Queen of Afghanistan, Ministers, diplomats and officers. Dr. Husain was warmly embraced by the Pakhtoon leader Khan Abdul Ghatter Khan.
