Shimla, November 11
Chairperson of the Himachal Pradesh State Woman Commission Daisy Thakur has taken a serious note of the Rajdei harassment case and asked the police and the administration to provide security to the victim and her family and ensure that the culprits get exemplary punishment.
Daisy, who went to Hamirpur to meet the victim, was told that the victim had gone to Sarkaghat for medical examination. When she was informed that Rajdei had gone without any security, she immediately called the SP and security was provided to the victim.
“I met Rajdei in the rest house in the presence of the SP and district officers and got the first-hand account of the incident,” she said. The police had arrested 21 persons and efforts would be made to ensure that the accused get punishment so that no such incidents take place in future, she added. The victim was also provided counselling by the district health officer. — TNS
