The Bathinda police are all set to launch a mobile app through which residents will be able to lodge complaints and also attach photographs or videos while sitting at their homes. A complaint will be addressed within 24 hours. Besides, the complainant’s name and identity would not be disclosed.

The mobile application project is a brainchild of Bathinda SSP Dr Nanak Singh and it is expected to be launched within the next 10-15 days.

At first, it will be connected with cloud and if it is successful, its dedicated control room would be established at the SSP office.

The name of the mobile application has not been finalised yet.

While talking to Bathinda Tribune, SSP Dr Nanak Singh said, “We are coming up with a mobile application through which anyone can lodge a complaint. The complainant can also upload photographs or videos regarding any incident and the complaint would be addressed within the stipulated time.”

The SSP added that the best thing about the mobile application was that the contact number and the name of the person would not be disclosed.

Moreover, when a person would lodge a complaint through this app, it will create ID and it would confirm the status of the complaint within 24 hours.

If the complaint is not resolved within 24 hours, then slots of three days, seven days and one month have been made within which it will show the status of the probe and only after the complaint is resolved, the ID window would close.

Dr Nanak Singh said the mobile application was in its final stage and within a few days it would be launched.

The app will also help the police in identifying the persons with criminal record as people can click their pictures and send to the police for verification and necessary action.

According to police officials, they hope that people will make optimum usage of the application.

This is will also provide relief to the residents who won’t have to make rounds of police stations to lodge their complaints.
