Faridkot, September 3
A day after the special investigation team (SIT) probing the Behbal Kalan and Bargari firing incidents approached the District and Sessions Judge, Faridkot, with a request to pardon the prime accused, Inspector Pardeep Singh, as he wanted to turn approver in the case, he appeared before the Duty Magistrate to give his statement under oath today.
Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Chetan Sharma started recording the statement of Pardeep Singh at 4.15 pm today. On the SIT’s request for an early hearing in the case, the accused-turned-approver was allowed to appear before the court today. — TNS
