Limits of Bathinda police stations redefined

The Bathinda police have redefined the limits of their police stations in the district.

While new areas have been brought under the jurisdiction of some police stations, some areas have been shifted out of the jurisdiction of other police stations.

Far-off areas have been included in the nearest police station with a view to providing relief to residents.

Model Town Phase 1, 2 and 3 have been brought under the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station as earlier, the police station itself was located in Model Town Phase 3 under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment police station, which was creating confusion among the residents.

As per the notification, the jurisdiction of 46 areas, including villages, has been shifted from one police station to the other in the district.

Bhai Mati Das Nagar, Bathinda, to Mansa road left side underbridge, Model Town Phase 1, 2 and 3, Dhobiana Basti, Shant Nagar, Bhagu road, Ajit road (upper side of 100-feet road) and Power House road (upper side of 100-feet road), which were earlier under the Cantonment police station have now been brought under the Civil Lines police station.

Gillpati and Sivian villages, which were earlier under the Nehianawala police station, have now been brought under the jurisdiction of the Bathinda Thermal police station.

Joganand village, which was earlier part of the Nathana police station, has now been made a part of the Bathinda Thermal police station.

Even the 100-feet road from Gurdwara Guru Arjun Dev Ji to Model Town Phase 4 and 5 and Green City Colony, Guru Gobind Singh Nagar street number 13 to 17, Baba Farid Nagar and Polytechnic College, Bathinda, which were earlier under the jurisdiction of the Thermal police station, have now been shifted under the Cantonment police station.

Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar street number 11 to 32, which was under the Civil Lines police station, has now been made part of the Cantonment police station.

Bhagu and Phoos Mandi Villages have been shifted from the Kotfatta police station to the Cantonment police station.

Gobindpura, Bibiwala, Bucho Kalan and Bucho Khurd villages, which were earlier part of the Nathana police station, have now been shifted under the Cantonment police station.

Rampura village, which was under the jurisdiction of the Rampura Sadar police station, has been brought under the jurisdiction of the Rampura city police station.

Lehra Dhurkot village has been shifted to the Rampura city police station from the jurisdiction of the Nathana police station.

Bhainichuhar area has been shifted from the Rampura Sadar police station to the Maur police station.

Areas including Ramgarh Bhundar, Kot Bhara, Raikhana, Kishangarh, Gehri Bara Singh, Maiser Khana, Yatri, Bhai Bakhtaur, Ghaso Khana, Manak Khana, Burj Sema, Bagher Chart Singh, Bagher Mohhabat, which were part of the Maur police station, have now been brought under the jurisdiction of the Kotfatta police station.

Kotshamir, Katar Singh Wala, Jassi Pauwali, Gulabgarh (Naiwala) and Jodhpura Romana villages, which were earlier part of the Kotfatta police station, have now been shifted under the  Bathinda Sadar police station.

Other areas, including Pakka Kalan, Malwala, Amarpura (Gurthari), Jodhpur Bagga Singh (Phalran), Bhagwangarh (Bhukhianwali) and Dunewala, which were earlier under the Raman police station, have now been brought under the jurisdiction of the Sangat police station.

Burj Mehma and Bhisiana villages have been shifted from the Bathinda Sadar police station to Nehianwala police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police Naveen Singla said the new delimitation of police stations’ jurisdiction had been done as per the notification issued by the Home Ministry of the Punjab Government.
