The star cast of a Punjabi movie, ‘Dhol Ratti’, promoted it here on Wednesday. The flick is all set to hit the silver screen on July 20.  

This film recapitulates the state of emergency on the Indo-Pak border and throws light on the problems faced by the people during the period.

Actor Lakha Lakhwinder Singh, who is also a theatre artiste, is in the lead role. He said ‘Dhol Ratti’ was a family movie and all members of a family could watch it together.

“The film portrays old Punjab and reflects the significance of family relationships. It will be a complete package of entertainment, comedy, and emotions,” he added. 

Actress Pooja Thakur, who is playing an important role in the movie, was a part of many Bollywood movies. 

Besides, Actors Malkit Rauni, Harby Sangha, Harinder Bhullar, Gurpreet Bhangu, Rupinder Rupi, Arsh Chawala, Anita Meet, Amrit Pal Chotu, Manju Mahal and Ikatar Singh are also in the movie.

Mike Verma, the producer of the movie, said, “In the modern era where people are inclined towards the western culture, it is an effort to connect them to their roots. After this movie, we are working on another Punjabi film, the shooting of which will start soon. It will be made under the banner of Canam Movie Production.”

Tanuj Jaitly and Ravi Pawar have given music in the movie. Mika Singh, Nachhatar Gill, Surjeet Bhullar, Ashu Punjabi, Sudesh Kumari, Rani Randeep and Neetu Bhalla have given their voices.
