BATHINDA: A district-level Children’s Science Congress of Bathinda and Fazilka districts was organised by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology at Baba Farid Group of Institutions.

A district-level Children’s Science Congress of Bathinda and Fazilka districts was organised by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology at Baba Farid Group of Institutions.

The theme of the event was “Science, Technology and Innovation for a clean, green and healthy nation”. Children in the age group of 10-17 years participated in the event with their project-based presentations in the junior and senior categories.

The National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) is a countrywide programme that provides a unique opportunity to children of the country to use their scientific temperament and knowledge to make their own dreams come true.

Students from various schools of Bathinda and Fazilka districts gave presentations on topics related to science and technology. These students exhibited their scientific skills and innovation with full zeal.

Sandeep Kansal, professor from MRSPTU, Bathinda, Nidhi Aryan from Saint Xavier Senior Secondary School, Sudhir Mittal from the physics department of Baba Farid College, Surbhi from the agriculture department of BFC and Samriti from the chemistry department of BFC evaluated the project work of students.

In the junior category, the first position was bagged by Saksham and Prince from RB DAV School and the second position by Bishanpreet Kaur and Anamika from BBS Indo-Canadian School, Maluka.

In the senior category, the first position from Bathinda was bagged by Yograj Singh and Hasanpreet Singh from Saint Soldier’s School, Talwandi Sabo. From Fazilka, the first position in the junior category was won by Manreet and Ridham from Adarsh Playway Convent School, Abohar, and Alina and Kusum from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Abohar, won the first prize in the senior category.

The winning students are awarded with trophies and certificates. All the selected projects would be presented at the state-level Children’s Science Congress to be held at Central Scientific Research Organisation (CSIO) in Chandigarh.
