A video of an assistant sub-inspector thrashing and dragging a woman by her hair has gone viral. In the video the ASI is seen beating up the woman.

This act was recorded by someone on his mobile phone and later uploaded on social media.

Phul DSP Gurpreet Singh said though they had not received a written complaint in this regard so far, he had heard of such a video.

Brick kiln workers staged a protest at Sukhanand village on Saturday. The Dyalpura police reached the spot and tried to take a few protesters into custody.

When the accused ASI was taking a youth into custody, an old woman objected to it. The ASI then started beating up the woman and dragged her by her hair. The people present on the spot condemned the police action.

This is not for the first time when police officials have been caught on the wrong side as last month too, a video clip showing CIA-1 officials taking a person called Vishal into custody from his house at Mandi Kalan village went viral on the social media. In the video, members of Vishal’s family can be seen pleading before the officials to leave him.

The family members of Vishal, a resident of Kalan village, approached the District and Sessions Judge through their advocate Lachman Kumar Khatri.

Later, a Duty Magistrate was appointed, who was ordered to conduct a probe into the incident. The magistrate also conducted a check at the CIA-1 office.

Even another incident was also reported in which a man accused of attacking a police party at Daulatpura village on June 24 had alleged that policemen subjected him to third-degree torture in custody.

Later, his claims were found to be true and a case was registered against CIA-2 in-charge Tarjinder Singh.

No written complaint yet, says DSP
