CHANDIGARH:As many as 642 volunteers donated blood at a camp organised by the security wing of the PGI on the eve of Republic Day here today.



Chandigarh, January 25

As many as 642 volunteers donated blood at a camp organised by the security wing of the PGI on the eve of Republic Day here today. PGI Director Prof Jagat Ram inaugurated the camp. It was conducted by a team of doctors from the Department of Blood Transfusion.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of PC Sharma, chief security officer, PGI, and officers and staff of the security wing.

A total of 642 volunteers comprising doctors, nurses, technicians, students and security personnel participated in the camp. About 100 volunteers also pledged for organ donation during the camp. They were registered with the Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation. The donors were later offered refreshments. — TNS
