After getting approval from the Administration, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has allowed many relaxations in need-based changes.
CHB allottees had been approaching the board for regularisation of additional constructions made in dwelling units (DUs). Considering their demands, the CHB has allowed certain changes. Among them are:
- Balconies projecting 914mm (3 feet) along the entire width of the courtyard on the front and rear side
- Additional windows in end walls of corner DUs
- Removal of 115mm (4½ inch) walls inside apartment
- Provision of grill/glazing in verandah/balcony
- Opening in the roof of common area for approach to top terrace for maintenance
- Increase in width of the main gate and provision of grill above the boundary wall in the front courtyard
- Temporary car shed with steel pipe frame and polycarbonate sheet/fibre glass cover
- Covering balconies with light material
- Internal change in dwelling unit/flat
- Additional construction on 150 sq ft or 50 per cent of the area of rear courtyard/terrace, whichever is lesser. For EWS/LIG categories, area of construction up to 150 sq ft or 75 per cent of rear courtyard/terrace, whichever is lesser
- Covering corridor area adjoining DUs of HIG (Upper) category in Sector 45-A, as per standard design
- Use the roof of the parking space at first floor level as terrace by converting the window abutting this terrace into a door and to provide 1,220 mm (4’) high MS railing in HIG (Upper)-Cat-I, HIG (Upper), HIG (Lower) Cat-II-Type-A, HIG (Lower) Cat-II-Type-B of Sector 45-A and 39-B.
- Construction of lifts, as per the design approved by Plan Approval Committee (Upper)
