Chandigarh, January 19

A draw of lots was held at Bhavan Vidyalaya (Junior), Sector 33-D, for nursery admissions today.

Out of 40 seats for the general category, 18 each were allotted to boys and girls and four to the BhavanVidyalaya staff. Five children were selected under Bhavan Vidyalaya alumni category and 20 seats were allotted for the siblings’ category.

As many 2,000 applications were received for admission, of which 416 girls, 522 boys and 28 twins were shortlisted. Among all private schools, Bhavan Vidyalaya received maximum applications for admissions.

Bijender Sharma, whose son Parv Vashisht was selected for nursery said, “I am happy as I had never imagined that we will be lucky enough to get admission in a best school. We also applied for admission in St Xaviers School.”

Another parent Saloni, whose son Hanasis Singh got admission in nursery said, “We all studied at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula. I wanted my son to study in the same school. We are all happy about his selection.”
