Chandigarh, November 27

The UT Administration has decided to completely digitise revenue records such as ‘jamabandis’ and mutation registers in the city.

A meeting on the review of digitisation of land record (Revenue Department) and the Sub-Registrar Office, UT, was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mandip Singh Brar.

The current status of work of digitisation was reviewed and some key decisions were taken in the meeting. It was decided that the complete revenue record containing record of rights such as ‘jamabandis’ and mutation registers of Chandigarh would be digitised completely.

The revenue record would also then be integrated to the Sub-Registrar Office, thereby creating a complete online system. It will benefit the citizens as they will be able to check their ownership record online from their homes and through dedicated kiosks. It will also help in pushing the rank of ease of doing business by making the overall system more citizen-friendly.

Clear-cut timelines are given in the meeting by the DC to the officers to complete several tasks on time. The meeting was attended by Nazuk Kumar, ADC, SDM Centre, SDM East and tehsildars of Chandigarh.
