Watch | Bus knocks down traffic cop at Chandigarh’s Kali Bari lightpoint

An on-duty traffic policeman was hit by a speeding bus at Kali Bari lightpoint on Saturday night. The injured victim was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32.

The incident took place at the lightpoint while Constable Kuldeep Singh was regulating the traffic.

A bus coming from the Tribune Chowk side took a turn toward Sector 31/47 dividing road and hit the policeman who had his back to the vehicle. The cop rolled few metres after being hit.

The bus stopped in time and did not run over the cop. The passersby ran to the cop who was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. 

The bus was impounded and a case registered against the driver.

The traffic cop’s condition is stated to be stable.
