Sports meet ends with powerful performances

BATHINDA: The five-day annual sports meet, Jamboree, being conducted at the Army Public School (APS), Bathinda, concluded on Saturday amid great zeal and sporting action.

The five-day annual sports meet, Jamboree, being conducted at the Army Public School (APS), Bathinda, concluded on Saturday amid great zeal and sporting action.

The central appointees of student council, NCC cadets and contingents of four houses of the school, participated in an impressive and well-synchronised march past. The main highlights of the ceremony were welcome dance, mass PT, duck race, roll the ball and go to school. As the tiny tots of the APS ran for the finishing line, the school playground reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from spectators.

Athletic activities such as 100m race, relay race, shot put, discus throw, long jump and some spectacular dance performances were part of the event.

Participation by principal and staff members in events such as relay race and tug of war garnered great applause and cheers from the students.

The school patron and chairman gave away prizes to toppers of Class X and Class XII, who cracked the NTSE, winners of various sporting events and the faculty members on the completion of their 20 years in the school. He congratulated the school principal, Anisha Ghuman, and the staff for successfully organising the meet. He also encouraged students to give their best in both academics and co-curricular activities. The school head girl proposed a vote of thanks. Foot-tapping bhangra, followed by national anthem, marked the end of the programme.
