3 drug peddlers arrested with 100-gm heroin

STF sleuths arrested three drug peddlers with 100-gm heroin and Rs 40,000 drug money from near Landran Chowk here.

The suspects have been identified as Gurjant Singh, alias Santy, a resident of Majat village, Kharar, Sukhvir Singh, alias Sukhy, from Badali Ala Singh village in Fatehgarh Sahib and Kulvir Singh, alias Illu, a resident of Makdian in Kharar.

Harpreet Singh, AIG (STF), Ropar range, said they got a tip-off in this regard following which a naka was set up at Landran Chowk here. “The accused were coming from the Majat side to Mohali in a car to supply drugs to their customers when intercepted at the naka,” the AIG said.

He said the trio was also drug addicts and used to supply drugs to other cities, including Chandigarh. The suspects were being interrogated, he added. A case under Sections 21, 29, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered. — TNS
