Ludhiana, December 11

A senior leader and Punjab BJP unit general secretary Parveen Bansal today said a few days ago he sent a dog-bite victim to the Civil Hospital for vaccination. The victim had to do much efforts just for arranging an anti-rabies vaccination at the hospital. When the victim turned up for his second dose the hospital authorities refused to give him vaccination, which Bansal finally bought from the market himself.

I spoke to the SMO and the CMO about the issue, but was clearly told that not just at the Civil Hospital, anti-rabies injections are not available all over Punjab.—

Today, again when the third injection was due, the Civil Hospital authorities told the victim the vaccination was out of stock.

“I spoke to the SMO and CMO on the issue, but was clearly told that not just at the Civil Hospital anti-rabies injections are not available all over Punjab,” Bansal added.

“This is criminal negligence. High population is at the mercy of God. That means the Captain government has no proper direction and dimension. The lives of 2.5 crore Punjabis are in the hands of God,” said Bansal.

“Ludhiana has 50,000 stray dogs. The people are frequent victims of dog bites, but our government has no anti-rabies vaccination. During the SAD-BJP regime not only government hospitals rather all private hospitals like the CMC were provided free anti-rabies vaccines,” added Bansal.
