Over 50,000 apply for DDA scheme

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received over 50,000 applications for its new housing scheme.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received over 50,000 applications for its new housing scheme. The last date for applying for the scheme online was June 10. 

According to sources, the DDA has got poor response for the flats located at Narela. On the other hand, the Vasant Kunj location was preferred by most of the applicants. 

Tarun Kapoor, vice-chairman, DDA, said, “As far as the number of applications received is concerned, we are getting data from different banks. We haven’t arrived at the final figure yet, but the figure as of now is about 50,000.”

The DDA Housing Scheme 2019 was launched on March 25, offering flats across four categories. The portal for the registration under the scheme was opened in March and the last date was extended to June 10.

“As many as 17,922 flats are on offer in four categories – high-income group (HIG), middle-income group (MIG), low-income group (LIG) and economically weaker section (EWS),” sources said. 

The flats available in these categories are  488 (HIG), 1,555 (MIG), 8,383 (LIG) and 7,496 (EWS).

For the EWS category, the application fee has been fixed at Rs 25,000, for the LIG category Rs 1 lakh and for MIG and HIG flats Rs 2 lakh.
