A mahapanchayat at Kathura village in Gohana today issued an ultimatum to the Jind police to release the farmers lodged in jail by March 6, failing which hundreds of farmers would gherao the Jind SP’s office the next day.

The kisan mahapanchayat was organised by residents of Kathura village at a stadium in Gohana of Sonepat. BKU chief Gurnam Singh Charuni, along with several khap and farm leaders, besides hundreds of residents of adjoining villages, participated.
