Gurugram, July 29

The Gurugram police arrested three bouncers today in connection with the assault and molestation of the couple at the toll plaza located at Ghamroj village on the Gurugram-Sohna elevated road.

All three accused were produced in a city court and sent in judicial custody.

DCP South Upasana Singh said the accused have been identified as Ribhanshu, a resident of Berka village, Yongendra, resident of Bahalpa village, and Suraj, a resident of Kanpur.

“All three accused are posted at the toll plaza and are in charge of other work including checking the toll slips of vehicles passing from there. Sohna ACP also held a meeting with the officials of the toll company and warned them that such incidents should not happen again,” added DCP Singh.

Meanwhile, members of the ‘Toll Sangharsh Samiti’ met DCP South Upasana Singh in her Gurugram office today. The Sangharsh Samiti submit a memorandum in protest against the growing terror of bouncers at toll plaza.

Samiti member Satbir Pehalwan said that the DCP has informed them that bouncers will not be allowed to run the toll. Also, Bhondsi police station has been asked to keep a close watch on the bouncers.

“The DCP assured the committee that strict action would be taken against those who took law into their own hands. If the toll operator and their employees did not give up their illegitimate ways, samiti members will be forced to hold a sit-in against the toll company,” added Pehalwan.

It may be noted that a couple was allegedly beaten up by the bouncers at Ghamroj toll plaza on Gurugram-Sohna road on Tuesday afternoon. The dispute started when a car was allowed to go toll free and the couple also sought exemption.

The whole incident was recorded on the CCTV cameras of the toll plaza which went viral on social media platforms. An FIR was registered at Bhondsi police station on Wednesday and police today nabbed three accused who were sent into judicial custody.
