Karnal MP has oral cancer, undergoing treatment in NY

Karnal MP Ashwini Chopra, who has been diagnosed with oral cancer, is currently undergoing treatment in New York.

Jagmohan Anand, BJP district president and an aide of the MP, said the MP was hospitalised for two months and undergoing treatment for the oral cancer. “The MP underwent a surgery last week. He is recovering well and we are hopeful of his return by the end of November,” he said.

Ashwini Chopra, an owner of a media group, remained in limelight for being vocal about the working style of the CM’s office. He maintained distance from the programmes of CM Manohar Lal Khattar at several occasions. Earlier, posters stating “anyone giving information about the MP will be rewarded Rs10,000” had gone viral on social media. Anand has said the poster was a conspiracy of some people to malign his image. —TNS
