Shimla, March 26

The “mein bhi chowkidar” drive launched by the BJP is now a mass agitation, getting the support from all segments, said BJP state general secretary Chander Mohan Thakur.

Referring to the Congress leadership, he said the leaders, who had looted the country for 60 years and were out on bail, were pointing finger at Narendra Modi. The Congress had stated that only 15 paise out of 100 reached beneficiaries, he said, addressing mediapersons here today.

Under the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address BJP leaders and people on March 31 through video-conferencing and big LCD screens would be installed, he said, giving a call to all honest Congress men to participate in the programme.

Giving details of the programme to be held in all four constituencies in the state, he said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Lok Sabha candidate from Shimla Reserved Suresh Kashyap would attend the programme at Poanta Sahib. Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal, state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti and candidate from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur would be present at Bangana.

Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar and candidate from Kangra Kishan Kapoor would attend it in Dharamsala while the Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahendra Singh and other ministers, along with candidate from Mandi Ramswraoop Sharma would be at Jahu. All MLAs would also be present during the programme, he added.

‘Anil should attend functions’

When asked whether Power Minister Anil Sharma, whose father Sukh Ram and son Ashray Sharma have joined the Congress, will continue or be expelled from the party, Chander Mohan parried the question by saying that the party would take the call at the right time. However, he maintained that till Anil Sharma was in the BJP, he should attend the party functions.
