Kathua/Jammu, July 25

Twenty-one persons, including nine policemen, were rescued from flash floods in Kathua and Poonch on Monday. Acting on information about several people trapped in flash floods in Ujh river on Monday, a police team, along with SDRF personnel, rescued 12 persons,” Kathua SSP Ramesh Kotwal said.

Nine policemen were trapped when flash floods struck a police post in Chakan-da-bagh area along the LoC in Poonch. They took shelter on the rooftop of police post. They too were rescued.
