Jalandhar, July 15
Intensifying their protest against the upcoming Punjabi movie, “Jatt Jugadi Hunde Aa”, the district president of Shiv Sena, Rohit Joshi, today started a hunger strike against the makers of the movie.
Earlier, Shiv Sena activists had condemned the movie for allegedly depicting a Hindu deity in an objectionable form. Around 10 protesters urged the police to lodge an FIR under Section 295-A of the IPC against makers of the movie today.
Due to protest by the party workers, its release date has been postponed.
Director of the film Anurag Sharma said, “At the insistence of the party workers, I have edited the scene that was considered objectionable and have shifted the date of release to July 19. The movie is based on a comedy plot and is a family movie. It showcases various aspects of lives of the people and their struggle to stay in society and the lead characters will reflect the struggle of students, especially their lives in paying guests (PG) accommodations.”
Shiv Sena workers demanded that the scene in which the Hindu deity was allegedly shown as if asking for a mobile phone should be removed.
