Singers roped in for voter awareness campaign

JALANDHAR: In order to motivate people to participate in the ensuing general elections in large number, the district administration today roped in Pollywood singer Salim Shehzaada popularly known as Master Salim and budding Bollywood singer Simar Kaur as district Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) icons.

In order to motivate people to participate in the ensuing general elections in large number, the district administration today roped in Pollywood singer Salim Shehzaada popularly known as Master Salim and budding Bollywood singer Simar Kaur as district Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) icons.

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma, accompanied by the singers said the administration aimed to ensure that more and more number of people could be encouraged to vote. Sharma also said both the singers had huge popularity due to which they could disseminate the message of voting far more efficaciously.
