When did you realise that acting was your goal?

Quite early in my life. I remember someone asked me in my childhood what I would like to be and I just said — actor. At that point of time, I did not know the meaning of acting also.

How did you train yourself?

I have done theatre for two years and that experience taught me a lot. Theatre gives you an environment to explore your talent.

How much did you have to struggle in the initial years?

I was born and brought up in Delhi. While doing theatre in Delhi I started giving auditions but then I realised that I needed to be in Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. Four years back I came to Mumbai. The initial period was tough as I did not know anyone from the industry. I even didn’t know whom I could call for any help. I started going to production houses to give auditions and gradually understood the process.

What was your first break?

I started with commercials and my first big break was Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy in which I did a cameo. Though I had auditioned for some other role which was liked by Zoya ma’am but I was too young for the role. I have also done Good Newwz and a web series called Becharey.

What is your take on the OTT space?

It’s a great time and place for independent makers. Ten years back when we only thought of cinemas, the avenues were lesser. Now, there are so many platforms. And especially in this pandemic, it’s really a blessing.

Your next series is called Made For Each Other. What is your role in this?

It is all about the problems one faces in a live-in relationship, especially during lockdown. That’s the backdrop of the story. The lead characters are working in call centres and the lockdown starts just after they decide to break up. And now they are stuck. It’s interesting.

What are your hobbies?

I love travelling, reading and talking about movies. Meeting new people and getting to know them is also my hobby.

Who is your greatest teacher in life?

I can’t pinpoint any one person. Life itself teaches you different things in various phases.
