T4he police claimed to have arrested 10 snatchers and recovered stolen items, including mobiles and bikes, from them.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police 2 Jaskiranjeet Sinh Teja said the teams of Industrial Area B, Division Number 6, Shimlapuri and Dugri police stations arrested the snatchers at checkpoints.

The police recovered a stolen bike from Hardeep Singh of Sangrur district and Pasrunjeet of Model Town in Ludhiana. An FIR has been registered against them at the Division Number 6 police station.

The Shimlapuri police arrested two snatchers at Matharu Chowk and recovered 19 stolen mobiles and a bike used in the crime. They have been identified as Gurmeet Singh of New Shimlapuri and Sagar Kumar of Daba Road.

Besides, a case against six suspects has been registered under Section 392 and 397 of the IPC at the Dugri police station. They were arrested with 10 stolen mobiles, two sharp weapons and a stolen bike. The police also recovered two bikes which they had used in snatching incidents.

The suspects have been identified as Sandeep Kumar of Vishal Nagar, Ludhiana; Rahul of Dugri, Sham Kumar of Pakhowal Road, Shahrukh Ali of Jawaddi, Suraj of Parkash Nagar near, and Navpreet of Passi Nagar in Ludhiana.
