Elderly man robbed of Rs 2.80 lakh in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 1

Three armed men robbed an elderly man of Rs 2.80 lakh near IndusInd Bank on Gill Road this morning. The robbery was captured by the CCTV cameras of the bank.

Kuldeep Singh (75), a resident of Jamalpur Colony, who works in the Fine Bearings trading company, said he parked his scooter outside the bank around 11.30 am. The moment he started walking towards the bank carrying a bag containing cash, an armed man pushed him on the steps and snatched the bag.

It seemed, the robbers were waiting for their victim outside the bank. They might have seen him removing the bag from the shooter’s compartment.

Meanwhile, the Division 6 police was informed and a team of policemen immediately reached the spot.

Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, said the police were scanning CCTV footage to get a clear picture of the robbers.
