Ludhiana, February 13
The annual exams for classes X and XII conducted by the Punjab School Education Board began at 306 centres in the district.
According to available information, a total of 40,467 students had got registered for Class X exams, of which 38,633 were regular students while the remaining were from the open category.
For Class XII, 37,690 students had got registered, an of these 35,191 were regular students and the others were from the open category. On Day 1, Class X students had their Punjabi exam, while Class XII sat for their Home Science exam.
The exam was conducted in a smooth manner and by 10-10.30 am a majority of the schools had got the question papers, which were then distributed in a timely manner.
