Ludhiana, January 15

Shahi Imam, Punjab, Maulana Mohammad Usman Ludhianavi, along with members of the muslim community, leaders of different political parties and social organisations, organised a meeting at Jama Masjid here today. The problems faced by the minority community in the state were discussed in detail during the meeting.

We have sent a message to different political parties that if the minorities were ignored this time, their candidates would also be ignored in the elections, the members said.

The members demanded that the election of members of the Punjab Waqf Board must be made in a transparent manner and only one member should be made from one district for equitable representation.

They said the cemeteries should be reserved on the basis of Muslim population in waqf properties in Punjab.
