Man held with 260-ltr hooch

Muktsar, January 18

Acting on a tip-off, the police on Friday arrested a man with 260 litres of hooch from Kattianwali village in the Lambi Assembly segment here.

However, in another incident, a man, who was also allegedly involved in similar activity, managed to flee before the police team reached there. Notably, Kattianwali village is infamous for brewing illicit liquor and a number of cases have been registered in the past.

The Kabarwala police said Mangal Singh of Kattianwali village was held with the hooch while Jassa Singh of the same village managed to flee. Two separate cases under the Excise Act have been registered. — TNS
