New Delhi, September 19
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday appointed former MoS Home Mullapally Ramachandran as the new president of Kerala unit and K Murleedharan the new state campaign committee chief in preparation for the 2019 General Elections.
K Sudhakaran, M I Shanawaz and K Suresh were named working presidents.
The appointment comes soon after Gandhi named Madan Jha Bihar Congress chief in a move to consolidate upper caste votes in the state.
Jha is the first Brahmin chief of the Bihar Congress in over two decades. The last one was former CM Jagannath Mishra.
The appointments were announced late tonight by Congress General Secretary organisation Ashok Gehlot.
