CM visits martyr’s family in Ropar, announces pension for parents

RAULI (ROPAR): Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday visited the house of Pulwama martyr Constable Kulwinder Singh and announced lifelong pension of Rs 10,000 for his parents.

Rauli (Ropar), February 17

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday visited the house of Pulwama martyr Constable Kulwinder Singh and announced lifelong pension of Rs 10,000 for his parents. 

Offering condolences to the bereaved family, the CM also announced that a local school and a new link road connecting the village to Anandpur Sahib would be named after the CRPF martyr, who lost his life in the Pulwama terror attack.

Speaker Rana KP Singh was accompanying the CM who spent around 15 minutes with the parents and grandfather of the martyr. 

Capt Amarinder said since the martyr had no sibling and was unmarried, the pension to the parents would be given in lieu of the job to the next of kin and was in addition to Rs 7-lakh ex gratia and Rs 5-lakh cash against the land which the family was entitled to. 

Earlier, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Ambika Soni also visited the house of the martyr and offered condolences.
