Dinanagar (Gurdaspur), December 1
There has been a seizure of 1 kg of RDX from a place in Dinanagar of Gurdaspur.
Police claim the man who carried it has links with Pakistan.
Two days ago, the Gurdaspur police had nabbed one Sukhwinder Singh from a check-post in Dinanagar.
SSP Nanak Singh said the police put him under sustained interrogation for two days following which he said that he had placed the explosive.
The police did not disclose the exact place from where the seizure was made. “We are not in a position to disclose anything right now. Investigations are in progress. However, one thing is sure that Sukhwinder has links with agencies based in Pakistan. We have launched a comprehensive probe,” said an officer.
In yet another incident, the Gurdaspur police on Sunday arrested two men from a place falling under Bhaini Mian Khan police station and seized a revolver. The cops are investigating whether these men are linked to Sukhwinder. “Questioning is still on. Clarity will emerge once we finish our investigation,” said an officer.
On November 22, Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts were put on a high alert after two motorcycle-borne men lobbed a low-intensity hand grenade at the army camp in Pathankot.
Nanak Singh ruled out any link between Sukhwinder and those involved in the Pathankot grenade attack.
Rumours of various kinds were doing the rounds in Dinanagar after the news of the RDX seizure spread. The SSP warned of strict action against those involved in spreading rumours.
