Fatehgarh Sahib, May 26

Amneet Kondal, SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib, has suspended and booked ASIs Jagdeep Singh and Sajjan Singh posted at the CIA staff, Sirhind, under Sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act on the complaint of Chanderpal of Mandi Gobindgarh.

The SSP said few days ago Chanderpal had complained to her that ASIs Jagdeep Singh and Sajjan Singh raided the house of his brother Parma Shankar and recovered 37 boxes of liquor and threatened to implicate his brother and nephew in the case. He alleged that they demanded Rs 50,000 to spare them. She said after getting a report from the SP (Investigation), it was decided to mark them absent from duty and they were suspended. — OC
