Two pilgrims were killed while 32 others injured when a tractor trolley on way to Naina Devi temple overturned near Bada Pind village yesterday evening. The deceased has been identified as Jaggar (46) and Nawabdeen (19), both residents of Inda Chhoi village near Fatehabad in Haryana.

The injured were taken to Bharatgarh community health centre and Ropar civil hospital from where they were discharged after administering the required treatment.

Assistant Sub inspector of police at Baratgarh said a tractor trolley with pilgrims from Inda Chhoi village near Tohana of Fatehabad district of Haryana was going towards Naina Devi when the driver Veerbhan lost control on the vehicle and it overturned near Bada Pind village on Ropar-Kiratpur Sahib road around 9.30 pm.

The injured were taken to Bharatgarh community health centre where doctors declared Jagar and Nawabdeen as brought dead.

The inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 174 of CrPC and bodies have been handed over to relatives after postmortem, said the police.
